  • Increase levels of serotonin, a hormone that gives you a feeling of well-being 
  • Reduce pain and swelling 
  • Help you fall asleep more quickly at night if taken an hour or two before  bedtime 

To soothe your other senses, try adding a few drops of scented oil, some quiet music and candles.
