Rush Memorial Hospital Earns 2024 Performance Leadership Award from The Chartis Center for Rural Health

Rush Memorial Hospital announced it has earned a 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality, Outcomes, and Patient Perspectives. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards recognize top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and/or Patient Perspective.

Brad Smith, President & CEO of Rush Memorial Hospital, stated that “At Rush Memorial, our goal is that every patient, family and community member discovers the commitment we’ve made to service excellence. With a focus on customer service, we put our patients first in everything we do.

Rush Memorial is a very special place where you receive personalized care in a friendly and family-like environment. Rush Memorial Hospital is more than a healthcare facility; we are a community partner and leader in rural health. Through visionary leadership and strategic oversight by the board of trustees, Rush Memorial provides access to quality healthcare services and has invested in cutting-edge technology, equipment, modern facilities, physicians, specialty providers and staff.

From physicians and staff to our leadership team and other professionals, we share a single-minded approach – to provide quality, patient-focused health care delivered with a passion for excellence. Our commitment is to our patients’ safety and customer satisfaction. It is a privilege to be part of this organization and this community.”

The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

“The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” said Troy Brown, Network Consultant, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “It’s a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievement as part of National Rural Health Day.”
