Nutrition Services provides in-house patient nutritional assessment and consultation as well as medical nutrition therapy to in-patients, outpatients, and staff. We provide meals for in- and outpatients, staff, physicians, Rush County Jail inmates and special functions. We are located in the basement of the hospital.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Medical nutrition therapy services provide nutritional diagnostic therapy and counseling services for the purpose of disease management. These services are provided by a registered dietitian pursuant to a referral by a healthcare provider and are available to both inpatients and outpatients.
Guest trays for patient families may be ordered by calling the kitchen. The charge is $5.00 and will be collected by dietary when they deliver the tray. When the patient is a child, the hospital provides one tray free of charge to a parent or guardian.
Gift certificates to the hospital cafeteria are also available. These make a great gift and can be used for birthdays, holidays, or for someone who has a family member in the hospital. See Paula Mount or Dena Bills if you are interested.
Outpatient meals for those on a special diet may be ordered from nutrition services. Please contact Paula Mount for more information.
