Peer Support Specialists in Mental Health

Listen to Drew Hahn describe the role of Peer Support Specialists (PSS’s)  in Mental Health. A PSS offers clients the opportunity to talk to someone who has shared the experience of mental illness. A Peer Support Specialist isn’t a therapist and doesn’t take the place of one. However, a PSS is able to “walk beside” clients, letting them know that they are not alone, and offering them hope for a successful long-term recovery.
