Holter Monitoring

A Holter Monitor is a device worn by the patient that records the heart rhythm for a 24-48 hour period. The application of a Holter monitor takes less than 15 minutes. Patients resume normal activity while wearing this recording device allowing a physician to observe the heart’s rhythm over a longer period of time.

Event Monitoring

An Event Monitor is a wearable device used to record heart activity when a patient experiences symptoms such as chest pain, dizziness, or palpitations. Unlike mobile telemetry, this device is manually activated by the patient during an “event.”

  • May be worn for up to 30 days
  • Patient-activated during symptoms
  • Application takes approximately 20 minutes
  • Helps diagnose intermittent arrhythmias
