Holter Monitoring
A Holter Monitor is a device worn by the patient that records the heart rhythm for a 3 to 14 day period. The application of a Holter monitor takes less than 15 minutes. Patients resume normal activity while wearing this recording device allowing a physician to observe the heart’s rhythm over a longer period of time.
Event Monitoring
An Event Monitor is a wearable device used to record heart activity when a patient experiences symptoms such as chest pain, dizziness, or palpitations. Unlike mobile telemetry, this device is manually activated by the patient during an “event.”
May be worn for up to 30 days
Patient-activated during symptoms
Application takes approximately 20 minutes
Helps diagnose intermittent arrhythmias
Mobile telemetry
