The RMH Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Serving 7,000 visitors per year, our state-of-the-art department and caring staff are prepared to handle a wide range of problems from minor illnesses to life-threatening events. We work toward prompt evaluation, with appropriate and safe treatment, of your varied concerns.

For medical issues that go beyond the capabilities of our local resources, we refer patients from the ER to a wide variety of specialists and hospitals from Vituity physician partners. If needed, air emergency transport services are available from St. Vincent StatFlight. Our partnership with Vituity physician partners allows us to continue the excellent care you have come to expect at Rush Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.

Dr. Blake Grider, of St. Vincent’s Emergency Physicians, is the Medical Director of the RMH Emergency Department. Dr. Grider is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has five years of experience working in emergency medicine at St Vincent’s. Dr. Grider and the rest of our Emergency Room Physicians are partners in Vituity Physician Partnership and Healthcare Staffing Solutions.
